Kraken, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has launched its new 'Krak' app, designed to merge the worlds of cryptocurrency and traditional finance. The app, announced on June 26th, positions itself as a comprehensive solution for managing money globally, offering users a blend of crypto functionality and conventional financial tools.

Key Features of the Krak App:

  • Global Money Transfers: Send money to over 110 countries.
  • Asset Management: Manage over 300 fiat and digital assets.
  • Earning Rewards: Earn up to 4.1% APY on USDG stablecoin holdings and up to 10% on other digital assets.
  • Peer-to-Peer Payments: Utilize 'Kraktags' for easy fund transfers without bank details or wallet addresses.

The Vision Behind Krak

Kraken's co-CEO, Arjun Sethi, stated that the app is intended to revolutionize how people manage and move money, aiming to replace outdated banking systems with a faster and more open financial ecosystem.

Future Plans

Kraken plans to expand the Krak app's functionality by introducing both physical and virtual cards for merchant payments, as well as exploring consumer lending, credit cards, and other financial services in the future.
